Season 2 Episode 03: The Evolution of Vice President Kamala Harris

Now that Kamala Harris has been sworn in as Vice President, there is so much to celebrate with her historic win. As the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, she’s blazed so many trails as both an Attorney General and Senator in the state of California. And in this episode of Let’s Talk About Race, our roundtable of hosts shine a spotlight on her track record and many accomplishments during her political career thus far. We also look at another female pioneer Shirley Chisholm, who was the first Black woman to be elected to Congress and the first African-American presidential candidate for a major party. With so many parallels between the two groundbreaking women, it feels as though the baton has officially been passed from one generation to the next. And with so many little Black and Indian girls seeing the path forward, we know that there won’t be a shortage of racers for the next leg of this journey.
